Within the framework of International Tourism Week, the Department of Tourism at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies organized a roundtable discussion titled “Risk and Sustainability Management in Tourism: Overcoming Global Crises” with the participation of faculty members, researchers, students, and master’s degree learners.

During the event, the department’s foreign associate professor, Summera Farooque Ali Khan, delivered a lecture highlighting the relevance of this field, the importance of assessing risks in the tourism industry amid global changes, and the significance of sustainable management strategies.

The lecture covered contemporary forms of risk factors in tourism, the impact of pandemics, geopolitical instability, and economic crises on tourist flows, the role of government policy and the private sector in ensuring sustainable tourism, as well as international experiences and practical solutions in risk management.

Throughout the roundtable, an open discussion platform was created for students, professors, and industry experts to exchange ideas, participate in Q&A sessions, and share suggestions related to the topic.

This event became one of the most significant scientific-practical initiatives within International Tourism Week, contributing to the development of the university’s tourism sector, enriching the educational process with modern knowledge, and strengthening cooperation with international experts. The roundtable also helped students gain a new perspective on global processes in the tourism field and develop practical skills.
