The perspectives of cooperation with the Northwest Minzu University of China
On November 29, 2018, the delegation from the Northwest Minzu University of the People’s Republic of China visited the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies. Professor Yehe Ye, Dean of the Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Cai Ren, Vice Dean of International Relations and Exchange, Ma Qing, Director of Development Planning and Curriculum Complex, Professor Wen Hua were welcomed by the Rector of TSIOS, Professor Abdurahim Mannonov .
Rector of the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies A.Mannonov informed the guests about the activity of Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, in particular talked about the Chinese Studies faculty, the educational process, the conditions created for professors and teachers, and the research works conducted on the faculty on the actual issues of Chinese studies.
During the meeting the sides discussed the issues of development of cooperation between Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies and the University of Minzu. In particular, the establishment of long-term and short-term exchange programs for teaching stuff and students of two higher education institutions, introduction of Uzbek language teaching on the basis of Chinese language at Minzu University, exchange of views on the issues of development of scientific cooperation in the field of Chinese language, literature, history, philosophy, culture, politics and economics, as well as the establishment of a joint faculty at TSIOS in cooperation with the University of Minzu.
It should be noted that a joint memorandum on the establishment of a joint faculty was signed between the two higher education institutions, and now a separate draft agreement which includes the directions, specializations and curricula and outlines the science programs, forms of training, acceptance quotas and their financial aspects is being worked out. Also, in January, several teaching stuff members from Minzu University are expected to come to TSIOS for lectures.
