Rational Use of Water Resources as a Guarantee of Food Security

On November 20, 2024, Associate Professor Gulshoda Yunusova of the Higher School of Korean Studies at the Institute of oriental languages and literature  conducted an open lesson on the topic “Rational Use of Water Resources” with second-year students (Group B) of the Korean-English Philology and Language Teaching program. The session was held within the broader theme of “Food”.

This lesson was directly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2: “Zero Hunger – End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture”. It emphasized that effective water management is a vital component of sustainable agriculture and food security.

During the session, key issues such as water scarcity, the value of water, and methods of water conservation—some of the most pressing challenges of our time—were thoroughly discussed. The students presented an impactful video on water conservation and also shared an interview-based presentation exploring solutions to water scarcity and the role of human responsibility in addressing the problem.

Such initiatives help foster environmental awareness among TSUOS students and highlight the crucial link between water conservation and sustainable food systems, contributing to a more resilient future.
