24.05.2025, 11:17 News 455

On May 22 of this year, members of the tourism working group of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies visited the famous family enterprise “Mingboshi Ceramic,” located in the Rishtan district of Fergana region.

This family workshop stands out for its dedication to the national style and for preserving the secrets of pottery craftsmanship passed down through generations.

During the visit, the working group members closely observed the enterprise’s activities and production processes—from raw material preparation to firing and decoration. Master artisans demonstrated the ceramic production techniques in practice. Participants shaped clay with their own hands, gaining insight into the subtleties of the craft.

The visit also included discussions with the management of “Mingboshi Ceramic” about integrating tourism with handicrafts, organizing pottery masterclasses for both local and international tourists. Opportunities for student internships and research programs were also discussed.

This visit served not only as a practical learning experience for students and faculty of TSUOS but also offered a deeper understanding of Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage. The working group members aim to continue exploring ways to integrate tourism with local craftsmanship, promote eco and cultural tourism, and translate and disseminate such initiatives in Oriental languages to share them with Eastern countries.
