A meeting was held with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt
On March 2, 2021, a meeting was held at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan Amira Fahmy.
During the meeting, the rector of the university, Gulchehra Rikhsieva, informed the distinguished guest about the joint activities carried out in a short period of time with Egyptian universities, as well as about future work in the field of Arabic studies.
She sincerely thanked all the embassy staff for constant communication and cooperation.
Egyptian Ambassador Amira Fahmy thanked the university administration for raising cooperation with Egyptian higher education institutions to a new level, for efforts to develop Arabic studies and strengthen cultural ties between our countries.
At the meeting, issues such as the exchange of experience with Arab scientists, professors and teachers of Egyptian universities, holding joint cultural and educational events dedicated to expanding cooperation in the study of the history and culture of Uzbekistan and Egypt were discussed.
Amira Fahmi noted that the embassy supports and will do its utmost to promote the implementation of the proposal to create an Egyptian cultural center at the Department of Arabic Philology of TSUOS, as well as measures to further strengthen the cooperation of the university with Egyptian higher educational institutions.
After that, the Ambassador took part in the competition of Arabic calligraphy, oratory in Arabic and the quiz “Do you know Egypt?”. Students studying the Arabic language, history, economics and politics of Arab countries, as well as students of lyceums took part in these competitions.
The winners were awarded by the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
