Intercultural Education
On June 13, 2024, an international seminar on “Confucius Institutes and Intercultural Education” was held at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS). The seminar was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Confucius Institutes and aimed at strengthening scientific and cultural relations between Uzbekistan and China.
The seminar was attended by Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Zhao Lingshan, Head of Confucius Institutes, Xu Qingsen, Minister of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Additionally, Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kongratbay Sharipov, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, as well as representatives of Confucius Institutes from Central Asia, leaders of the leading higher education institutions of our country, and sector specialists participated in this prestigious international event.
During the seminar, issues related to the development of international cooperation in education, enhancing cultural exchanges, and fostering mutual understanding were discussed. The event provided opportunities to expand educational opportunities, promote intercultural understanding, and create equal educational opportunities, ultimately offering quality and inclusive education for all.
Confucius Institutes play an important role in the international education system, contributing to the improvement of education quality through the development of education and supporting intercultural cooperation. Such seminars create opportunities for students and teachers to expand their knowledge and skills, contributing to the global development of education.
