TSUOS Expands Health and Well-being Support for Students and Staff

Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies actively cooperates with the medical association of Mirabad district in strengthening and maintaining the health of students and teaching staff, closely assisting them in introducing the principles of a healthy lifestyle and developing medical culture among students and teaching staff. As a result of active cooperation, in recent years, medical information statistics of students, professors, teachers, and staff were organized at TSUOS, and with the help of these information statistics, specific principles and mechanisms of strengthening a healthy lifestyle and prevention of diseases were determined. Thus, measurements for the development of medical culture are developed and put into practice; at the same time, deep attention was paid to ensuring the integration of physical education and health measures, mass sports movement with preventive medicine. In addition, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the university has established “Mother and Child” medical rooms, a “Health” medical center, an “Oriental” psychological service center, a sexual and reproductive services center, with all amenities have been working actively until today, taking into account the interests of students and youth. Also, the TSUOS team has been participating in various sports competitions and events organized by Tashkent State Medical Academy and other HEIs.

To strengthen and maintain the health of students and teaching staff of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, and to improve health and well-being results, in cooperation with local and national health institutions, medical examinations are carried out twice a year.

On September 29, 2023, a lecture dedicated to “Goal 3: Good health and well-being” was held within the framework of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations at the “Translation Studies and International Journalism” department of TSUOS. Sevara Kayumkhodjaeva, general practitioner and surgeon of the 4th City Clinical Hospital named after I. Irgashev and NS Medical Women’s clinic, conducted a discussion entitled “Two things are valued after they are lost – youth and health”. During the interview, Sevara Kayumkhodjaeva gave a number of practical recommendations on health care and answered the questions of students and professors of the department in detail.
