The principal objectives and areas of activity of the Scientific and Analytical Center for the Study of the Development of Eastern Countries are to conduct comprehensive research into the history of Eastern countries, the stages of their development, the specific features of their socio-political and economic development, and their development models, as well as to examine the Republic of Uzbekistan’s relations with Eastern countries from the perspective of further advancing and strengthening these relations.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DIRECTOR OF THE CENTER
Manages and oversees the activities of the Center;
bears personal responsibility for the fulfillment of the tasks assigned to the Center;
convenes and conducts meetings on matters related to the activities of the Center;
represents the Center and its activities before domestic and foreign organizations;
concludes and terminates contracts, in accordance with the procedure established by law, with individuals (employees) engaged in the activities of the Center;
in coordination with the Rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, introduces changes to the organizational structure of the Center within the approved staffing limit and allocated payroll fund;
approves plans that correspond to the objectives and areas of activity of the Center;
resolves relevant matters arising in the course of the Center’s activities in accordance with the procedures established by applicable legislation;
exercises other powers in accordance with applicable legislation and within the framework of the present Regulations.
