Representatives of TSIOS attended ICM annual conference in Tashkent
The activity of Erasmus+ programme is gaining bigger popularity with each year in Uzbekistan. For the second time NEO in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialised Education (MHSSE) of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) and Tashkent Financial Institute held a conference on “Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility: Role in Improving Quality of Education and Scientific Research” at Tashkent Institute of Finance on 4 December 2018.
The main goal of the conference was promotion of the principles of Boulogne Process in organisation of bilateral mobility between the higher education institutions (HEIs) of Uzbekistan and EU and in internationalisation of higher education of Uzbekistan. The conference was opened with welcoming speeches by H.E. Eduards Stiprais, Ambassador of EU Delegation to Uzbekistan and Bakhrom Ismailov, Head of Department in the Ministry of HSSE. The conference was full of impressive and resourceful reports by outstanding local and foreign professors, young researchers and students on their personal and professional experience of credit mobility with clear results of their work at present.
Objectives of the conference included: exchange of knowledge and experience acquired during the mobility period within Erasmus+ and the implementation of learning and research results in Uzbekistan; analysis of best practices in the organisation of mobility and the introduction of recognition mechanisms for short-term studies in European universities; analysis of the experience of participation in credit mobility and in creating the basis for joint curricula and faculties with partner universities in Europe. Main feature of the conference was the participation of students with their presentations on their mobility experiences. The presence of experts and participants of the Erasmus+ programme gave students an opportunity to get to know them better and get first-hand advices and answers to their questions.
The conferences was attended by 60 participants, including representatives of the Ministry of HSSE, Ministry of Innovation Development, State Testing Center, EU Delegation in Uzbekistan, National Coordination Unit and Campus France in Tashkent, Sorbonne University (France), Vilnius University (Lithuania), as well as 21 local HEIs. In this conference participated Associate professor of TSIOS Gulchekhra Rikhsieva and doctor of philology, head of “Southern Asian languages” department of TSIOS Ulfat Muhibova. During the conference U.Muhibova made a speech about her ICM in Leiden University of Netherlands.
At the end of the conference, diplomas and Erasmus+ gifts were provided on different nominations. Doctor of philology, head of “Southern Asian languages” department of TSIOS Ulfat Muhibova was awarded with “The most successful realisation of results to higher education” diploma at the end of the conference.
