TDSHU and Boysun: Online Course Aimed at Training Young Guides Has Started
As part of the cooperation between Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and Vocational Technical School No. 3 of Boysun District, Surkhandarya Region, online classes of the training course “Fundamentals of Organizing Excursion Activities for Young Guides” have begun for students studying tourism.
The course is organized in an online format by the faculty members of the Department of Tourism at TDSHU. Its main objective is to strengthen the theoretical knowledge of technical school students in guiding and excursion activities, develop their practical skills, and train young guides capable of professionally promoting the tourism potential of the region.
Throughout the course, students will gain knowledge and practical skills in such areas as the content and responsibilities of a tour guide, principles of organizing excursion services, development of excursion routes, collection and presentation of information about tourist attractions, preparation of excursion scripts, effective communication with tourists, speech culture, and professional ethics of a guide.
The online classes also place special emphasis on the effective use of Boysun District’s rich historical and cultural heritage, unique ethnographic traditions, natural tourism resources, and attractions in excursion activities. Students will complete practical assignments focused on developing excursion programs and routes based on local tourist attractions, as well as preparing engaging excursion narratives for different categories of tourists.
The organization of this online training course is important for strengthening educational cooperation between TDSHU and Vocational Technical School No. 3 of Boysun District, developing the “university–technical school” integration, making effective use of modern educational technologies, and contributing to the training of young tourism professionals with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
The Department of Tourism at TDSHU plans to continue educational and practical projects aimed at further developing the tourism potential of Boysun District, increasing young people’s interest in tourism and guiding activities, and promoting local tourism resources more widely.
