TSUOS Holds the 11th Expanded Meeting of the University Council

On July 1, 2026, the 11th expanded meeting of the University Council was held at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. The meeting was attended by the university leadership, faculty members, deans, heads of departments, directors of structural divisions, and members of the University Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, academic certificates and commemorative gifts were presented to faculty members who had been awarded academic degrees and academic titles, as well as to several professors and lecturers in celebration of their anniversaries.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the implementation of the resolutions and directives of the President and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the decisions and orders of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and its Board.

In accordance with the agenda, the Council reviewed the outcomes of the 2025–2026 academic year and discussed a number of key issues related to the university’s priority areas of development. Reports were presented on the academic year’s results, the activities of the Registrar’s Office, faculty performance and discipline, KPI-based incentive mechanisms, the results of the summer semester and final state examinations, master’s thesis defenses, and the semi-annual monitoring of doctoral candidates and independent researchers.

The Council also discussed the nomination of candidates for the State Scholarships of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, other named state scholarships, the Suyima Ganiyeva Special Scholarship, and the Shoislom Shomukhamedov Rector’s Scholarship for the 2026–2027 academic year. In addition, the annual report on the activities of the University Council for the 2025–2026 academic year was presented.

The meeting further considered recommendations for the publication of scientific monographs, nominations for academic degrees and academic titles, the approval of curricula and internship guidelines for the 2026–2027 academic year, regulatory documents related to education quality management, ranking criteria for distance education, as well as reports on the university’s spiritual and educational activities and the work of tutors.

The speakers presented comprehensive reports on all agenda items, while participants shared their comments and proposals. Following detailed discussions, the University Council adopted the relevant resolutions and assigned specific responsibilities to ensure their effective implementation.
