An event in connection with the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls” in TSUOS

PF-87 Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 7, 2022 ” on measures to further accelerate work on systematic support of families and women ” approved by Appendix 2 , in paragraph 16 of the comprehensive action plan aimed at the implementation of the National Program on increasing activity in all aspects of political and social life in 2022-2023, in connection with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the task of holding a series of events on the theme “We are against violence” is defined.
Organization of related events, extensive coverage in the media and on social media, “November 25 – International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women” and “16 Days Against Violence” have been taking place in all educational institutions, In particular, at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, there are roundtable discussions for students on the topics “We support the protection of women and girls from harassment and violence,” “Situations of harassment and violence against women and their protection,” and “The social role of women and men in the family and society.” A competition of essays, posters, and videos was held under the slogan “We are against violence.”
Today’s event is dedicated to this topic, in which Malika Kadirkhanova, chairwoman of the “Women and Gender Issues Committee” of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Family and Women, Zulayho Mahkamova, Umida Abdullaeva, head of the Women’s Affairs Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, are participating with their lectures.
Also at this spiritual and educational event, an introductory presentation of the “Orientalist Girls’ Leadership” club will take place. At the end of the event, the summing up of the results of the competition held at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and the award ceremony in connection with “November 25 – International Day for the Elimination of Harassment and Violence against Women” will take place.
