Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies Participated in the Pilot Project “University Governance in Higher Education Institutions of Uzbekistan”
On October 8, 2026, the first seminar-training on “Artificial Intelligence and Technology in Governance” was held as part of the pilot project “University Governance in Higher Education Institutions of Uzbekistan”, implemented in cooperation with the British Council. The event focused on the use of artificial intelligence and modern technologies in governance.

The seminar-training is part of a pilot programme on higher education governance, which is being implemented from September 2026 to April 1, 2027. Alongside Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, the pilot project involves Bukhara State University, Urgench State University, Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, Nukus State University, and the National Research University “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers”.

During the seminar, representatives of the Ministry provided information on the aims and objectives of the project, as well as the process of piloting the Regulation on University Governance in higher education institutions. Aron Porter, Deputy Director of the UK-based Advance HE, delivered a presentation on the use of artificial intelligence and modern technologies in governance processes.

The project is aimed at strengthening the effectiveness of university governing boards, risk management, accountability between members of governing bodies and executive leadership, representation of stakeholders, including students and staff, as well as transparency and public accountability.
