A meeting was held with the chairman of the Association for the Study of Farsi-Speaking Societies at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies

On August 20, 2022, a meeting was held with Kazuo Morimoto, acting chairman of the Association for the Study of Farsi-Speaking Societies, at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. Association for the Study of Persian-Speaking Societies was founded in

2000 in Pennsylvania, the USA as a non-governmental non-profit organization uniting scientists and researchers interested in studying the culture and civilization of Persian-speaking societies in Iran and its surroundings. The association publishes a scientific magazine called “Persian Studies” and a newsletter every six months. Collections of conference materials and reviews of monographs are also published. The association holds an international scientific conference every two years. Scientific conferences were held in Dushanbe (2000), Yerevan (2004), Tbilisi (2007, 2018), Lahore (2009), Hyderabad (2012), Sarajevo (2013), and Istanbul (2015).

Kazuo Morimoto serves as the chairman of the Association for the Study of Farsi-Speaking Societies and is also active as a professor at the

Institute of Islamic and Iranian History at the University of Tokyo. Kazuo Morimoto proposed holding an international scientific conference of the Association for the Study of Persian-Speaking Societies at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies in 2025 in order to discuss topics related to the Persian language and literature, Iranian history, and culture.
