International Symposium Dedicated to Amir Temur and the Timurid Renaissance Held in Ankara

On October 6–7, 2026, an International Symposium dedicated to Amir Temur and the Timurid Renaissance is being held in Ankara, Türkiye.

The prestigious international academic event is attended by the leadership and faculty members of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. Saodat Abdullayevna Nasirova, Rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, delivered an opening address at the symposium’s opening ceremony.

The international symposium is jointly organized by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Türkiye, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, and the State Museum of the History of the Timurids.

The symposium addresses key issues related to the political, socio-economic, cultural, and scientific heritage of the Timurid era, the development of science, education, art, and architecture during the reign of Amir Temur and the Timurids, as well as the role of this historical period in the development of world civilization.

Faculty members of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies are also actively participating with scholarly presentations, offering valuable academic insights and analyses on historical sources, political and social processes of the Amir Temur and Timurid period, as well as the contemporary significance of its rich scientific and cultural heritage.

The international symposium serves as an important academic platform for strengthening cooperation among scholars and researchers, promoting in-depth study of the historical and cultural heritage of the Timurid era, and further introducing this invaluable legacy to the international academic community.
