The lecture was delivered via the Zoom platform by M. S. Nurullayeva, a lecturer of the Department of Tourism at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. During the event, students received detailed information about the role of tour guides and guide-interpreters in the tourism industry, their key responsibilities, professional ethics, communication culture, the importance of foreign language proficiency, and the requirements placed on guide-interpreters in today’s tourism market.
The lecture emphasized that the work of tour guides and guide-interpreters involves not only providing information to tourists but also effectively promoting the country’s historical and cultural heritage, national values, and tourism potential. Students were also introduced to international experience, the culture of organizing excursions, methods of effective communication with tourists, and the responsibility of guides in improving service quality.
Such cooperation between Boysun Technical College No. 3 and the Department of Tourism of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies is particularly relevant today. The sustainable development of the tourism industry is closely linked to the training of qualified young professionals equipped with modern knowledge and skills. In particular, lectures conducted in cooperation with higher education institutions play an important role in enriching the theoretical knowledge of students studying in the regions, increasing their interest in tourism professions, and helping them make informed career choices.
The scientific-practical and professionally oriented activities organized within the framework of this cooperation contribute to improving the quality of education, providing technical college students with opportunities to become familiar with the higher education environment, and promoting the development of the mentor–student tradition. Lectures delivered by university faculty members broaden students’ professional outlook and help develop the knowledge, communication skills, initiative, and practical thinking required for successful careers in the tourism sector.
Furthermore, such cooperation strengthens continuity between regional educational institutions and higher education organizations. Professional lectures organized for technical college students encourage them to pursue higher education, gain deeper knowledge in tourism studies, and become competitive specialists in the field. This serves as an important factor in developing the tourism industry, improving service quality, and making effective use of the tourism potential of the country’s regions.
The event was conducted in an interactive format, allowing participants to ask questions related to the topic. Detailed answers were provided, along with practical recommendations regarding the professional activities of tour guides and guide-interpreters.
This lecture played an important role in increasing students’ interest in the tourism industry, expanding their professional knowledge, and guiding them toward future careers in tourism and hospitality. The event became one of the practical outcomes of the effective cooperation between Boysun Technical College No. 3 and the Department of Tourism of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
