Field-Based Lesson Conducted in Support of SDG 2: Zero Hunger

As part of its commitment to promoting food awareness and supporting SDG 2: Zero Hunger, TSUOS regularly organizes food-related educational and cultural activities for students. On 12 December 2025, lecturers of the Higher School of Iranian and Afghan Studies, Aziza Nishanbayeva and Muhammadrizo Asloniy, together with second-year Persian-English (Russian) students, conducted an outreach lesson dedicated to SDG 2: Zero Hunger.

The activity introduced students to Iranian culinary traditions and provided practical experience in food preparation. Participants learned about Iranian national dishes, kitchen equipment, and food-related vocabulary while discussing cooking methods and nutrition. During the event, students prepared the traditional Iranian dish Zereshk Polo ba Morgh, as well as saffron tea and cinnamon tea.

The event promoted cultural exchange, practical food skills, and awareness of sustainable food practices while fostering community engagement among students. Such activities complement the University’s broader efforts to support food security, nutrition awareness, and access to food within the university community.
