Oxford University Professors at TSUOS
On April 16, 2026, professors of the Iranology Department at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies of the University of Oxford — Dr. Edmund Herzig, Dr. Farniyaz Zaker, and Ms. Ani Beyt-Movsess — visited the Higher School of Iranian and Afghan Studies at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
During the visit, the guests met with the faculty members, where both sides exchanged information on the history of their respective schools and departments, academic staff, study programs, and courses offered.
The meeting also focused on the organization of a summer school at TSUOS, as well as opportunities for University of Oxford students to study at the Higher School of Iranian and Afghan Studies for one semester.
In addition, a scientific lecture titled “Persian Language Studies at Oxford” was delivered by the guests. Faculty members, master’s students, and doctoral candidates actively participated in the lecture and received comprehensive answers to their questions.
