TSUOS Associate Professor Shavkat Ikromov Participated in a Prestigious International Conference at the University of Cambridge

On July 21–23, 2026, the University of Cambridge, UK, hosted the Gulf Research Meeting (GRM 2026), a prestigious international scientific conference dedicated to the history and modern development characteristics of the Gulf region.The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, who delivered a speech on the importance of international cooperation, regional development, and scholarly dialogue.

The event brought together leading professors, scholars, and experts from around the world conducting research on the politics, economy, security, energy, and international relations of the Middle East and Gulf Arab states.As part of the conference’s academic program, Associate Professor Shavkat Ikromov, Head of the Department of History and Anthropology of Eastern Countries at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS), delivered a presentation focusing on cooperation between Central Asia and the Gulf Arab states in the fields of energy and infrastructure.

Participation in this prestigious international forum plays a significant role in strengthening the international recognition of scientific research conducted at TSUOS, expanding academic cooperation with foreign scholars, and developing promising academic ties.
