Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS) held an online meeting with representatives of the University of Tsukuba (Japan) to further strengthen academic cooperation, particularly in the implementation of joint international research projects.
During the Zoom meeting, the participants discussed in detail the joint implementation of the project entitled “An Innovative Kanji Learning Module Using the Detective Conan Manga and Artificial Intelligence Technologies.” The parties also exchanged views on potential cooperation with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS)—one of Japan’s leading scientific funding organizations—including opportunities to participate in joint grant projects and promote research at the international level.

The meeting focused on the project’s concept, the content of the 15-week innovative educational module, mechanisms for integrating artificial intelligence into Japanese language education, and the responsibilities of each institution. The participants also discussed organizing joint academic seminars and workshops, promoting faculty and researcher exchange, and publishing the project’s outcomes in prestigious journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science.
The two sides further identified promising areas for collaboration under JSPS grant programs, including conducting joint research, supporting early-career researchers, and strengthening bilateral academic partnerships.

The project is expected to enhance the effectiveness of Japanese language education by combining modern pedagogical approaches, artificial intelligence technologies, and edutainment-based learning methods.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for International Cooperation N.
