Members of the project at TSUOS on a business trip in Turkey

From December 23 to 30, 2024, members of the practical project titled “Utilizing Local Attributes to Enhance the Ethno-Tourism Potential of Rishton, Chust, Yangikurgan, and Boysun Districts,” being implemented at the university, went on a business trip to the cities of Ankara and Istanbul.
During the trip, participants visited the Beypazarı Vocational School of Ankara University, where they became familiar with the process of producing natural products for tourists visiting Turkey. They also exchanged experiences and delivered a lecture on the tourism destinations of Uzbekistan.
In collaboration with Ankara University, an agreement was reached to develop a project aimed at promoting gastronomic tourism in both countries.
Throughout the business trip, foreign experiences in developing ethno-tourism in Uzbekistan were studied, and several agreements were made, including:
- Exploring natural silks and silk products handcrafted at the Beypazarı Public Education Center.
- Reviewing literature on tourism at the National Library of Turkey and the Orhan Kemal Library.
- Studying elements promoting national values at the Marriott Hotel and presenting the “etnotravel.uz” website and other platforms on social media.
- Visiting historical buildings and other national attributes that promote ethno-tourism in Istanbul.
Additionally, the following matters were discussed:
- Studying the technology of dyeing silks red naturally, based on the experience of Uzbek artisans, in collaboration with the Beypazarı Public Education Center.
- Organizing the purchase of natural dyes from Uzbek artisans.
- Showcasing Uzbekistan’s national dishes at the food festival planned to be held at the Marriott Hotel in 2025.
- Organizing student exchanges in the tourism field between Ankara University and TSUOS.
