Scientific Lecture on Trans-Asian Networks in Islamic Art and Architecture Held at TSUOS
On September 4, 2026, the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies hosted a scientific lecture titled “Trans-Asian Networks in Islamic Art and Architecture in the Late Medieval Period,” featuring Professor Sussan Babaie from The Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London.
The lecture detailed how political, economic, and cultural relations in Asia influenced the development of art and architecture during the late medieval period.
Special attention was paid to the movement of architects, craftsmen, and artists, the spread of artistic ideas and technologies, and their integration with local traditions.
Professor Sussan Babaie, a renowned expert on Safavid art, urbanism, and transcultural visual processes, highlighted the significance of the “Trans-Asian” approach.
