TSUOS Hosts the Grand Opening of the Japan–Uzbekistan International Vocational Training Center
On June 26, 2026, the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS) officially inaugurated the Japan–Uzbekistan International Vocational Training Center, established in cooperation with Yamagata University (Japan).
The opening ceremony brought together the university leadership, representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Uzbekistan, a delegation from Yamagata University, faculty members, students, and distinguished guests. The event was opened by Associate Professor Nadira Xalmurzayeva, Head of the Higher School of Japanese Studies. Welcome remarks were delivered by Professor Gulchehra Rikhsiyeva, Rector of TSUOS, representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Uzbekistan, Professor Tadashi Onodera of Yamagata University, and Professor Dilafruz Ikramova, Director of the Japanese Language and Professional Skills Testing Center at Yamagata University.
As part of the program, participants were introduced to Japanese language courses, the KAIZEN and YORI-I business education programs, and practical entrepreneurship training sessions. The ceremony concluded with a group photo session and the launch of the pilot training courses.
The establishment of the Center marks a significant milestone in strengthening cooperation between Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and Yamagata University. The Center aims to prepare young professionals in line with the demands of the Japanese labor market by providing Japanese language education, vocational skills training, entrepreneurship education, and career-oriented programs, while further enhancing educational and practical collaboration between Uzbekistan and Japan.
