TSUOS Hosts Meeting with Representatives of Beijing Sinzhou Education Consulting Company
Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS) hosted a meeting with representatives of Beijing Sinzhou Education Consulting Co., Ltd. (People’s Republic of China) to discuss the development of international educational cooperation and prospects for attracting Chinese students to TSUOS.
Beijing Sinzhou Education Consulting Co., Ltd. specializes in educational and cultural exchange, international cooperation, international student recruitment, and the development of partnerships between higher education institutions.
One of the key topics of the negotiations was the recruitment of Chinese students to TSUOS undergraduate programs. The Chinese side proposed establishing cooperation to promote the university’s educational opportunities among prospective students in China, identify applicants interested in studying Oriental languages, culture, economics, and international relations, and encourage them to pursue their studies at TSUOS.
It was emphasized that this initiative would not only expand the university’s international student body but also strengthen TSUOS’s academic reputation within China’s higher education sector and create new opportunities in the international education market.
Particular attention was given to the establishment of “4+0” undergraduate programs. Under this model, students complete the full four-year bachelor’s degree program at the partner institution, while the curriculum and academic requirements are jointly determined by both institutions through mutual agreement.
The parties exchanged detailed views on the implementation of the “4+0” model in cooperation with leading Chinese universities. They agreed to continue discussions on selecting partner universities, identifying relevant academic fields, coordinating curricula, and developing effective student recruitment mechanisms.
Another promising area of cooperation discussed during the meeting was the recruitment of Chinese students to one-year master’s degree programs. As an initial step, both sides proposed launching the cooperation through TSUOS’s existing Master’s Program in Foreign Economic Activity. It was also noted that the partnership could later be expanded to other master’s degree programs offered by the university.
The Chinese delegation stated that, at the initial stage, it would be possible to recruit approximately 100 Chinese students to relevant TSUOS academic programs. This initiative is expected to significantly increase the number of international students, enhance the university’s educational export potential, and elevate academic cooperation between Uzbekistan and China to a new level.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of accelerating the practical implementation of these initiatives beginning with the current academic year.
In particular, they agreed to maintain regular communication and practical consultations on student recruitment, coordination of academic programs, development of the academic and organizational framework for the “4+0” program, and the organization of admissions to master’s degree programs.
