TSUOS hosted a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Uzbekistan to discuss prospects for expanding Uzbekistan–China cooperation in education, science, and academic exchange.

On 5 August 2026, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS) hosted a meeting with a delegation led by Yu Jun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in the fields of education, science, and academic exchange. Particular attention was given to attracting international students, facilitating graduate employment in their respective fields of study, and developing joint educational programs and research projects.

The participants also put forward an initiative to prepare and publish a fundamental textbook entitled “History of China” for higher education institutions in Uzbekistan in Uzbek, Russian, and English. In addition, TSUOS Rector G. Rikhsiyeva proposed establishing a joint research portal specializing in the humanities to elevate Uzbekistan–China scientific cooperation to a new level.

The meeting concluded with agreements to involve leading historians and China studies scholars in the preparation of the textbook, expand the exchange of academic literature, and implement new joint initiatives.
