Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Baia Kvitsiani Visits TSUOS
On October 29, 2026, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS) welcomed Ms. Baia Kvitsiani, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, and Ms. Mariam Keburia, Head of a Department at the same ministry.
During the visit, the distinguished guests first toured the university museum. The museum exhibits provided an opportunity to learn about the university’s rich history and cultural heritage. The guests were then given a detailed overview of the university’s academic programmes, the facilities and opportunities available to students, and its ongoing research activities.
During the discussions, the parties addressed a number of important issues aimed at developing bilateral relations. In particular, they agreed to pursue the following initiatives:
- establishing a Georgian Cultural Centre at the university;
- developing comprehensive inter-university cooperation between higher education institutions in Georgia and TSUOS;
- organizing joint online seminars and webinars for academic staff and students.
The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere on the sidelines of the Central Asian International Education Forum. The visit is expected to help elevate educational and cultural ties between universities of the two countries to a new level.
