A grand spiritual and educational event titled “Mustaqillik To‘yi” (The Wedding of Independence), dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was held with high distinction at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS). The event took place under the motto: “As a single Motherland and a single nation, we will create a new life and a future!”

The event was opened with an introductory speech by the Rector of the University, Gulchehra Rikhsieva. In her address, the Rector focused on the core essence and significance of the speech delivered by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of our independence. In particular, it was emphasized that the grand goals set before future orientalists, a sense of belonging to the destiny of the Motherland, and dedication must become the main motto of every student.

As the Head of our State noted: “Today we are stronger than yesterday. God willing, tomorrow we will be even stronger than today. Our thirty-five-year path of independent development has taught us one ultimate truth: when the people and the state unite towards a single goal and act with sincere devotion, there is no summit that cannot be conquered. There is no force capable of defeating such a powerful nation and state!”

Following that, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Abduhalil Mavrulov explained the scientific and theoretical essence of the “Phenomenon of Independence” concept to the students. He elaborated on the immense freedom, national values, and the sense of self-awareness that independence has granted to our people.

During the event, a presentation was held for the book titled “The Sanctuary of Free Thought and Oriental Upbringing” (Erkin tafakkur va sharqona tarbiya maskani) by the First Vice-Rector of the university, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Kudratulla Omonov. It was noted that this book serves as an important resource in raising the youth in the spirit of Eastern values and shaping their independent and free thinking.

Furthermore, a powerful monologue of “Jaloliddin Manguberdi” and the song “Mendirman O‘shal” (It is I) performed by Farrukh Botirov, the artistic director of the “Sharq Yulduzi” (The Star of the East) theater studio established under the university and an actor of the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater, evoked unique pride and enthusiasm among the attendees.

Participants of the TSUOS talent clubs recited the poem “You are the Soul within my Soul, Uzbekistan!” (Jonim ichra jonimdirsan, O‘zbekiston!) by the People’s Poet of Uzbekistan, Khurshid Davron, with outstanding skill. The song “Uzbekistan is my Motherland” (O‘zbekiston Vatanim manim), performed by Bekmurod Davronov, the artistic director of the “Sanduvoch” ensemble under TSUOS, brought an uplifting and inspiring spirit to the atmosphere.

This event further strengthened the feelings of patriotism, national pride, and gratitude in the hearts of the student youth, giving them immense energy and inspiration for their future studies and scientific endeavors.
