Regular Meeting No. 2 of the Council Held at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies
On September 24 of this year, the regular Meeting No. 2 of the Council was held at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. The meeting was chaired by the Rector of the University.
During the meeting, the implementation of decrees and resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as decisions of the Collegium and orders of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, was critically and analytically reviewed. A report by F. Zakirjanova was heard on this matter, and relevant tasks were identified.
In accordance with the agenda, the participants then heard a scientific report entitled “Uzbekistan’s Foreign Policy in the Context of Global Transformations”, which addressed important contemporary social and political, economic, spiritual and educational issues related to the field of Oriental studies. The report was delivered by A. Yuldashev.
The meeting also discussed preparations for the Teachers and Mentors’ Day, a widely celebrated national holiday in Uzbekistan, as well as the organization of the “Student Initiation” ceremony for first-year students at a high level. The report was presented by K. Omonov.
In addition, the report of the Scientific and Analytical Center for the Study of the Development of Eastern Countries was reviewed. The report was delivered by A. Mamajonov.
As is traditionally the case, considerable attention was also devoted to the “Miscellaneous Matters” section of the Council’s agenda.
In particular, the Council considered the approval of master’s thesis topics for students admitted to master’s programmes in the 2026/2027 academic year, as well as the database of graduation qualification theses for final-year undergraduate students. The reports were presented by Sh. Saidov and S. Umarova.
The Council approved the proposal to provide financial incentives to university faculty members who achieved high performance indicators in scientific activities based on the results of the third quarter of 2026. The report was presented by D. Sayfullayev.
The meeting also addressed and agreed upon matters related to recommending scientific and educational literature for publication. The report was presented by S. Azizkhonova.
At the conclusion of the meeting, relevant decisions were adopted on all issues considered, and specific tasks were assigned to the responsible officials.
