Happy New Academic Year, dear orientalists!
On September 7, 2026, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies hosted a grand ceremony under the motto “With a unified Homeland and a unified nation, we will create a new life and future!” to welcome first-year students and celebrate the start of the 2026/2027 academic year in high spirits.
On behalf of the University Rector, Professor Gulchehra Rikhsieva, the First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual-Enlightenment Work, Kudratulla Omonov, delivered an opening speech. He congratulated everyone on the new academic year and the auspicious occasion, reading out the honorable President’s holiday greeting dedicated to teachers and mentors. Additionally, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor Mansur Bekmurodov shared his heartfelt advice and best wishes with the young students.
First-year students admitted on a state grant with top scores (189 points) — Gulsanam Norqulova from the Institute of Foreign Policy and International Economic Relations (in Uzbek) and Salomat Diykanbayeva from the Institute of Eastern Languages and Literature (in Russian) — expressed their joy and immense gratitude. On behalf of all parents, Komiljon Karimov also conveyed deep appreciation to the professors and mentors.
