Strengthening relations with Leiden University
In accordance with the cooperation agreement between Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and Leiden University of the Netherlands and the Erasmus + project between educational institutions, from January 20 to June 11, 2020 Leiden University doctoral student Comstock-Skip Jamie conducted an internship at the Department of Iranian-Afghan Philology. During this internship, Comstock-Skipp Jaimee also gave a 20-hour lecture to university students on “Shaybanids and the Shahnameh”.
Doctoral student Comstock-Skipp Jaimee also had a research internship at the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Abu Rayhan Beruni of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and studied the sources of his research.
On June 11, 2020 in collaboration with the Council of Young Scientists of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Abu Rayhon Beruni in the framework of the online seminar “Bilimkent” doctoral student Comstock-Skipp Jaimee’s final online webinar-seminar on “New Century, New Dynasty: Copies of the Shahnameh of the Tuqay-Temurids (Ashtarkhanids) transferred to Samarkand ” was organised.
At the beginning of the webinar, the rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies Rikhsieva Gulchehra Shovkatovna praised the scientific and teaching work of doctoral student Comstock-Skipp Jaimee at the university and expressed hope for further development of cooperation.
