G. Rikhsiyeva, Rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, delivered a report at a roundtable discussion on the topic “Priority Tasks for Ensuring Gender Equality and Expanding the Rights and Opportunities of Women,” held at the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Senate of the Oliy Majlis hosted a roundtable dedicated to Goal 5 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development — achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls. The event was held under the theme “Priority Tasks for Ensuring Gender Equality and Empowering Women.”
During the event, participants discussed in detail issues related to ensuring gender equality, expanding women’s rights and opportunities, and increasing their participation in social, political and economic life.
At the event, G. Rikhsiyeva delivered a presentation on “Ensuring Quality Education for Women, Developing Professional Skills, and Supporting Girls’ Leadership.” She emphasized that higher education institutions should not only train qualified professionals, but also support research and practical initiatives aimed at enhancing social responsibility in society, promoting gender equality, and strengthening family values.
The roundtable also featured proposals and opinions on priority tasks in ensuring gender equality and expanding women’s rights and opportunities, as well as existing challenges and effective ways to address them.
