The IV International Conference “Sustainable Development: Women’s Initiatives in Science and Business” was held at TSUOS

In accordance with the Resolution of the UN General Assembly dated December 22, 2015, it was adopted to celebrate February 11 every year as the “International Day of Women in Science”. The celebration of the “International Day of Women in Science” on February 11 every year, widely promoted by UNESCO, is aimed at encouraging women and girls in science. This date is another opportunity to promote the full and equal access and participation of women and girls in science. Science and gender equality are crucial for achieving sustainable development.

Solving the biggest challenges to sustainable development – from improving health to combating climate change – relies on mature talents in science. Therefore, it is particularly important to further involve women in the fields of science. Diversity of research expands the pool of talented researchers, generating new perspectives, talent and creativity. Celebrated annually on February 11, this date was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly to ensure the full and equal access of women and girls to science.

This date is a reminder that women and girls play an important role in science and education and that their participation should be strengthened. On this date, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Committee on Family and Women of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Presidential Creative School named after Abdulla Qodiriy, the Agency for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies jointly held the IV International Conference “Sustainable Development: Women’s Initiatives in Science and Business” on February 10 of this year.

This conference has been traditionally held at this higher education institution for several years. About 200 articles were submitted to this year’s conference, and the conference materials were published as a collection. Each article was assigned a DOI number, and the articles were indexed in databases such as Google Scholar, Cyberleninka, archive.org.

Representatives of foreign partner universities and research institutes of TSUOS, such as Bangladesh, Turkey, the People’s Republic of China, India, and Korea, also participated in the conference with their reports.
