On May7, 2024, an international conference on “Lexicology and lexicography in Central Asia; traditions and modern scientific schools” was held at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.

In the conference, linguists from Aloma Tabotabai, Tehran, Kavsar, Tarbiyat-e Modarres Universities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, Jawaharlal Nehru University of India, Baluchistan University of Pakistan, National University of Indonesia, North Ossetia Institute of Humanities and Social Studies, Fergana State University gathered and participated with their scientific lectures.

Rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, Professor Gulchehra Rixsiyeva, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Uzbekistan Muhammad Ali Iskandari, General Director of the Department of International Relations of Tehran University Abdulmajid Iskandari, Head of the Pashto Department of Baluchistan University Nasibullah Siymab and Al-Farabi attended the event. Batirkhan Bolatbek, Ph.D., associate professor of the Kazakh National University, attended with congratulatory words at the event.

About 20 foreign and 80 republican articles were submitted to the international conference. Among them, 75 articles were selected by the commission and published as a collection. International conference “Modern lexicological research: topical issues and perspectives”, “Lexicological research on classic works”, “Issues of language policy and terminology in Eastern countries”, “Medieval oriental lexicography”, “Modern lexicography: achievements and problems” continued its work divided into five branches.

The goal of the conference was to discuss a number of issues related to medieval eastern lexicography in the field of linguistics, the achievements and problems of contemporary lexicography, their solutions, and ongoing research. The conference was full of scientific lectures and intense debates filled with new theoretical views.
