A conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of famous Indian actor and director Raj Kapoor was held at TSUOS
On December 17, 2024, a conference was held at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the famous Indian actor and director Raj Kapoor.
The conference was attended by Smita Pant, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan, renowned director Umesh Mehra, scholars, researchers of Indian cinema, and students.
The speakers discussed Raj Kapoor’s creative work, his place in Indian cinema and world culture, as well as his role in strengthening Uzbek-Indian cultural ties.
During the conference, Raj Kapoor’s significant contribution to the film industry was particularly recognized. The participants of the event noted that Raj Kapoor’s work plays an important role in promoting people’s friendship and enriching cultural heritage.
At the end of the event, participants were presented with commemorative gifts.
