To mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Odil Yoqubov, an outstanding writer and People’s Writer of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies has published two separate books: a monograph by Doctor of Philological Sciences and Professor Khayrulla Hamidov entitled “Odil Yoqubov’s Works in Turkish: Artistic Expression, National Identity, and Translation Mastery”, and the Turkish translation of the writer’s celebrated novella ** Billur Qandillar ** (Crystal Chandeliers).

These publications contribute to promoting the legacy of one of the prominent figures of Uzbek literature internationally, introducing Turkish readers to Odil Yoqubov’s works, and further strengthening literary and cultural ties between the Uzbek and Turkish peoples.

The monograph, published under the supervision of Professor Abdurahim Mannonov, Doctor of Philological Sciences, and featuring his foreword as well as reviews by Doctor of Philological Sciences Samida Mustafayeva and Professor Ergas Ochilov, provides a scholarly analysis of the Turkish translations of Odil Yoqubov’s novels ** Adolat Manzili ** and ** Diyonat **. Particular attention is paid to the author’s distinctive literary style, the national spirit reflected in his works, his artistic techniques, and the ways in which national identity is recreated in Turkish translations.

The monograph is of considerable scholarly significance for the study of the interpretation of Uzbek literature in Turkish, the distinctive features of literary translation, and the role of the translator’s skill in conveying a work’s meaning and artistic value. The study also contributes to a deeper understanding of Odil Yoqubov’s place within the literary landscape of Turkic peoples.

The writer’s widely acclaimed novella ** Billur Qandillar ** has also been translated into Turkish and published as a separate book under the title Billur Kandiller. The publication was prepared under the editorial supervision of Professor Gulchehra Rixsiyeva of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.

Both publications represent an important step towards promoting Odil Yoqubov’s literary legacy, introducing Turkish readers to the artistic and aesthetic characteristics of Uzbek literature, and advancing scholarly research in translation studies.

Published in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Odil Yoqubov’s birth, these books will contribute to preserving and passing on the writer’s rich literary heritage to future generations, while enhancing the international standing of Uzbek literature.
