The international scientific seminar held at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies has successfully concluded its work
The two-day international scientific-practical workshop titled “From the Sacred Khan to Sufi Sultan: Sovereignty in Post-Mongol Central Asia”, which commenced on August 3 of this year at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS), has successfully come to an end.
Organized in collaboration with Princeton University (USA) and the University of Texas at Austin (USA), this prestigious conference brought together prominent scholars, including historians, orientalists, manuscript experts, and theologians, from leading global universities and research centers. Over the course of two days, within the framework of plenary and panel sessions, the evolution of political thought in Central Asia and the broader Eurasian region, Islamic political theology, the Chinggisid concept of statehood, and the reinterpretation of the history of state administration based on written sources were thoroughly discussed.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the presentations and scientific findings delivered by the participants were summarized. This international dialogue was highly praised for gathering diverse academic schools and modern interdisciplinary methodological approaches on a single platform. It was particularly emphasized that the outcomes of the conference would serve to study the region’s history through new conceptual lenses and actively integrate Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage into the global scientific discourse.
During the solemn closing ceremony, all local and foreign scholars who actively participated in the international scientific workshop were presented with special international-level certificates and memorable gifts from the university administration. Foreign guests and representatives of partner universities expressed their profound gratitude to the leadership of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies for the high level of organization and the fruitful academic dialogue.
