Barrier-Free Campus Strategy and Policy
The university has implemented a barrier-free campus strategy and policy aimed at ensuring equal opportunities for people with disabilities, individuals with limited abilities, and socially vulnerable students and staff. Within this framework, campus infrastructure is equipped with ramps, accessible entrances and exits, and specialized facilities. In addition, equal access to educational, residential, and social services is ensured. The university follows the principle of non-discrimination and prioritizes the creation of an inclusive, safe, and comfortable environment for all.
Our university ensures that the campus is easily accessible for people with disabilities by providing inclusive infrastructure and supportive services. The campus is equipped with ramps, and there are no physical barriers at entrances and exits, allowing for convenient mobility.
Students with disabilities have full access to academic and extracurricular facilities, including the library and sports halls, where they can actively participate in educational and physical activities. Additionally, accessible restrooms and dining facilities are available to ensure comfort and independence.
The university also prioritizes accommodation for students with disabilities by allocating places in student dormitories as a priority. Furthermore, such students are admitted to the university through special quotas, ensuring equal access to higher education.
Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies has a non-discrimination policy towards students with disabilities, low-income backgrounds, limited opportunities, and those in need of social protection. In accordance with this policy, the university organizes educational and awareness-raising activities funded by the university to support the interests, talents, and aspirations of these students.
In addition, the university has a dedicated psychological counseling room, where various seminars, training sessions, and lectures on mental health and psychological well-being are regularly conducted for students.
To further support their well-being, the campus includes dedicated facilities such as a mother and child room, as well as medical rooms that provide necessary healthcare services.
Moreover, to ensure the social protection and support of academic staff, the university collaborates with the trade union to provide health rehabilitation vouchers for professors and employees.
