Artificial Intelligence and Robotization in Tourism: Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies Hosts an International Scientific Webinar with the Participation of Turkish Scholars
On October 8, 2026, an international scientific online webinar was organized at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS) on the initiative of Ch. Khusanov, Head of the Department of Tourism, and M. Amonova, trainee lecturer, with the participation of department members and in cooperation with faculty members of the Faculty of Tourism at Kocaeli University, Türkiye.

The webinar focused on the theme “Digital Transformation in the Tourism Industry: Robotization, Artificial Intelligence, and Innovative Marketing Strategies.”
The webinar aimed to explore contemporary technological transformations taking place in the tourism and hospitality sectors, introduce advanced international practices into the educational process, develop students’ professional competencies, and strengthen international academic and research cooperation between the two universities.

During the international webinar, Prof. Dr. Bilsen Bilgili of Kocaeli University delivered a scientific presentation entitled “Transformation of Labor Resources in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry: From Human Labor to Robotic Service Systems.”
The presentation was particularly significant in terms of examining the impact of technological advancement, automation, and robotization on the labor market in the tourism industry. Particular attention was paid to such topical issues as the use of modern technologies in the hotel and restaurant business, automation of service processes, increasing labor productivity, and the new professional requirements for tourism specialists in the context of the digital economy.
In addition, Oylum Ekşi, a scholar from Kocaeli University, delivered a scientific presentation entitled “The Transformation of Tourism Marketing in the 21st Century: Innovative Artificial Intelligence-Based Strategies and Their Application in the Tourism Services Market.”
The presentation explored the role of artificial intelligence technologies in modern marketing activities, the promotion of tourism products and services through digital platforms, the analysis of consumer needs, the personalization of marketing strategies, and opportunities to enhance the competitiveness of tourism destinations in international markets.
In particular, the use of artificial intelligence-based marketing tools is of great importance for effectively promoting Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage, unique tourism resources, and national tourism products in international markets, creating new opportunities for the development of the tourism sector.
A significant aspect of the international scientific webinar was the interconnected consideration of two key areas shaping the future development of the tourism industry: the robotization of service processes and the improvement of marketing activities through artificial intelligence.
This scientific dialogue was of considerable importance in enriching the contemporary knowledge of students studying tourism and hospitality, developing their innovative and analytical thinking skills, and strengthening professional training based on international experience.
The Department of Tourism at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies places particular emphasis on expanding academic cooperation with foreign higher education institutions and strengthening the international integration of tourism education through the organization of international scientific webinars and joint educational activities.
This international scientific webinar represented another important initiative aimed at developing scientific and pedagogical cooperation between higher education institutions in Uzbekistan and Türkiye, disseminating advanced international practices, and preparing competitive tourism professionals equipped with modern knowledge and skills.
