The main goal of opening “Volunteer Centers” is to attract young students to voluntary work in the center, as a result of which young people will have the opportunity to learn good work skills and improve their professional skills.
The center conducts its activities in the following areas:
- The direction of “ecology and environmental protection” – in this direction, the members of the center conduct mass plantings, tree planting, beautification and greening in the territory of the higher educational institution or in other places. Moreover, the volunteers visit animal shelters and provide them with the necessary contributions.
- The branch of “Volunteer translators” – in this case, student volunteers translate various documents and articles. In addition, volunteer-translators participates at scientific meetings and conferences of various levels.
- The field of “Social volunteering” – assistance to the elderly, low-income and people with disabilities. In this area, volunteer activities are carried out in the interests of the individual, namely:
- house visits once a week;
- obtaining information from the representatives of this category of people, regularly helping them as part of volunteer activities.
- The area of “Festivals, conferences and other public events” – in this area, volunteers participate in the organization of events held by the university, local governments, the Youth Affairs Agency or other public organizations (script writing, implementation of events), preparation of the venue, decorating, inviting the participants, placing them in the designated seats, taking the event guests for a walk around the area, introducing them to new creative works, as well as interpreting at international forums and festivals, sports competitions held in our country;
- One of the best aspects of the University Volunteer Center is the mechanisms for encouraging the development of socially significant activities of young people, involving them in solving the current problems of society’s development, popularizing social responsibility, ideas and values.
The 30th House of Mercy, attached to the TSUOS University, is also engaged in social and eco-volunteer activities in the microdistricts: Afrosiab, Avloni, Bayot, Baysun, Zhargorgon, Lolazor, Ming U’rik, Tolarik and Yuksalish.
Organization and coordination of the activities of the center
The general management of the center is carried out by the rector of the university and the heads of the district departments of the Agency for Youth Affairs.
The Center is managed by a coordinator appointed from among the students or graduate students.
The coordinator of the center is appointed by order of the rector of the university on the proposal of the head of the district (city) department of the Agency for Youth Affairs.
Membership in the center is carried out by submitting an electronic application. Separate questions can be created for each university.
The coordinator of the center and his assistants will form lists in 4 areas, and volunteering will be carried out on the basis of a plan of systematic individual projects.
In connection with the coordination of the activities of volunteer centers and the work done by them, the rating is published twice per an academic year through the volontyor.uz platform. The ranking results will be announced in the section below.
A volunteer center must have at least 100 volunteers.
Their tasks include:
- effective projects implemented by volunteers in 4 areas;
- coverage of the work of volunteers in the media and social networks;
- participation of volunteers in events held at the district, city, regional, republican and international levels.
Every year, on January 30th and May 30th, volunteer centers provide information, photos and videos about ongoing activities for generalization to the regional office of the Agency, and the regional offices provide to the central office of the Agency for youth work and development of volunteering in educational organizations.
