In the new academic year 2020-2021 with University status
Currently, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, active teaching work continues in TashGIV. Moreover, the published Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev “On measures to radically improve the training system and increase the scientific potential in the field of oriental studies” under No. PP-4680 of April 16, 2020 became for us orientalists really the main same time a crucial event. The Resolution states that “the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies has taken consistent measures to train qualified specialists serving the development of bilateral and multilateral political, economic and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and the countries of the East, meeting the need for personnel with analytical thinking, able to correctly interpret the processes taking place in the world, as well as the training of simultaneous interpreters in Eastern languages. ”
Under the COVID-19 quarantine, teachers of the Department of Korean Philology continue to actively conduct online lessons, prepare video-audio material of lectures and practical classes in the Korean language and special courses “Practical Phonetics of the Korean Language”, “Word Formation of the Korean Language,” “Methods of Teaching the Korean Language “,” Theoretical Grammar of the Korean Language “and other disciplines, methodological developments to improve teaching in the conditions of distance learning (M. Mukhiddinova, Sh. Kasymova, T. Kim and others), take part and speak at online conferences, symposiums on various issues of training and teaching methods, remote curatorial work is conducted with students (E. Bekirova, D. Ashirbaeva, M. Muhiddinova, B. Khakimova), preparation of students on scientific reports at the student forum, guidance on master’s and doctoral dissertations (L. Pan, T. Kim, N. Kim), articles and materials are published in national and international journals, in Scopus and Web of Science magazines (T. Kim , G. Yunusova, M. Mukhiddinova, D. Ashirbaev, B. Khakimov and others ).
As noted in the Presidential Decree, the organization of the system of training, retraining and advanced training of specialists with higher education in the field of Oriental studies at the level of international standards, strengthening scientific and pedagogical potential, improving the educational and methodological and information support of the educational process is relevant today. Therefore, now, we, orientalists, already in the honorary status of “Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies” face important and urgent tasks of finding optimal solutions to problems in order to radically change the education and training of qualified personnel who are competitive in the labor market and have comprehensive knowledge in oriental science.
