President of the Council for Cultural Relations of India Vinay Sahasrabuddhe is a guest of TSUOS. On March 1, the distinguished guest visited Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. During the visit, a memorandum of understanding was signed between TSUOS and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. The signed memorandum will be used by the council to send volunteer professors from India to TSUOS and jointly develop curricula in the field.
The rector of TSUOS Gulchehra Rikhsiyea also briefed the guest on the activities of the university, its achievements in the field of Indian studies and cooperation with the Indian Cultural Center named after Lal Bahadir Shastri in Tashkent. The Council thanked the guest for his long-term assistance in funding the travels of many Indian scholars at TDSHU to India for training, internships, and conferences.
Distinguished guest Vinay Sahasrabuddhe said, “I consider Uzbekistan to be one of the most developed countries in Central Asia in the field of education and science. I have heard a lot about TDSHU from our scientists and colleagues in India. I am very glad to be here today. I would like to thank the university administration for the attention paid to the comprehensive study of our country. I hope we will have a lot of joint activities in the future, ”he said.
