Essay competition “Future Scholar of Korean Studies – 2021” was held.
On April 3, 2021, within the framework of the Week of Korea, the Yunusabad Academic Lyceum of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies hosted an essay competition “Future Scholar of Korean Studies – 2021”. Rikhsieva Gulchehra Shavkatovna, rector of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, took part in it as the chairman of the organizing committee of the competition, and Avazbek Ashuralievich Vohidov, vice-rector for academic affairs took part in it as deputy chairman of the organizing committee of the competition. The organizing committee as members included the director of the academic lyceum Sultanov Khodzhimurod Abdulkhakimovich, the dean of the faculty of Korean studies Usmanova Shoira Rustamovna, the head of the department of Korean philology Saidazimova Umida Turakhanovna and teachers of the faculty Murodova Durdona, Nazarova Madina, Alimova Dildora. The contestants were asked to write an essay whose first word was “If” (만약). Through this union, students were encouraged to express their dreams and aspirations in the Korean language in an artistic form. The criteria for evaluating the essay included the use of a variety of words, the correct use of grammatical forms and turns, volume and content. It is noteworthy that in their essays, the participants also expressed their opinion on the role and importance of the field of Korean studies. According to the results of the competition, Bakhodirova Madina took 1st place, Kasimova Mohira and Tursunova Dildora took 2nd place, Nazirkulov Azizbek and Shodmanova Kamilla took 3rd place. The winners and active participants of the competition were awarded certificates of honor and souvenirs from the Faculty of Korean Studies of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
