History of the department

 As soon as the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies was established in September 1992, the Department of Higher Mathematics and Informatics was established within the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies. Yugay was charged. Initially, the department was headed by Yugay LP, Jalilov A., Umarov A., Burilkhiev S., Buralkhiyeva R., Giyazitdinov U., Imamov T.

In 2000, the department was divided into two departments – “Higher Mathematics” and “Computer Science”. The department of “Informatics” began to work in a new structure, where Abidov A., Pulatov A., Kodirova N.R., Razzakova D., Ergashova N., Malsheva L., Normatov R. began to work.

On September 28, 2005 by the order of the head of the institute K / 01-72 on the basis of the departments of “Natural Sciences”, “Higher Mathematics” and “Informatics” a new department of “Natural Sciences, Higher Mathematics, Informatics” was established. Candidate of Biological Sciences Usmanova G.U. led.

In 2008 on the basis of the department “Natural Sciences, Higher Mathematics, Informatics” the department “Mathematics and Informatics” was established and was headed by the candidate of physical and mathematical sciences Kadyrkulov B.J. led.

From 2013 to 2017 the department was headed by Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Nasirov K.E. headed. In 2015, the department was renamed “Mathematics and Information Technology.”

In 2021, the department was renamed “Mathematics and General Economics”.

At present, the department is headed by Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Kadyrkulov B.J. is managing. The department has 8 professors and teachers, 4 of them are full-time and 4 part-time. One of the professors is a doctor of sciences, associate professor.

Due to the fact that the department is not a specialist graduate, there are no undergraduate and graduate specialties.

The department is a partner of Al-Khwarizmi University of Information Technology and Sultan Qaboos University of the Sultanate of Oman.
