TSUOS hosted an international conference “Women in Sustainable development: science and quality education”

In the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly of December 20, 2013 on “Science, Technology and Innovation for Development” as a guarantee of gender equality accessibility is acknowledged in this field, women and girls of all ages have equal and full access to the development of science, technology and innovation. At the plenary session of the UN General Assembly on December 22, 2015, a resolution declaring February 11 as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science was adopted.

The main goal of the resolution is to achieve qualitative changes in the process of involving women and girls in scientific activities. A conference dedicated to this international day has been held on February 11 for two years at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. The theme of this III year’s international scientific conference is “Women in Sustainable development: science and quality education”, which involves the effective use of existing opportunities for the youth of our country, including girls, and making recommendations, as well as studying foreign experience. The goal of the conference was to get acquainted with the experience and achievements of women scientists in the fields of education and science, to exchange ideas about their scientific traditions, to widely involve and encourage the potential of women and young girls in scientific and innovative activities. The event was opened by the rector of TSUOS, G. Rikhsieva, with an introduction and gave the floor for congratulations to Malika Kadirkhanova, the chairperson of the “Women-girls and gender equality” committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Also, at the opening ceremony of the conference, Shahlo Turdikulova, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, Deputy Director of the “Family and Women” Institute under the Family and Women’s Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Leader of the “Smart Women” movement of the Republic Oynisa Musurmonova spoke and welcomed the participants of the conference. The opening ceremony was connected to the Plenary meeting, and in the afternoon the conference continued its work in the branches.

About 300 articles were submitted to the conference, and the materials of the conference were published as a collection. Each article was assigned a DOI number, and the articles were indexed in databases such as Google Scholar, Cyberleninka, archive.org.

The conference was also attended by representatives of the foreign partner higher educational institutions and scientific research institutes of TSUOS, such as Japan, Korea, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Iran, Egypt, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Russia.

At the end of the conference, the questions of the participants were answered. Also, Malika Kadirkhanova welcomed the participants, emphasized the relevance of this conference in today’s process of Sustainable development, and wished success to the work of the conference.
