The event “Shab-e yaldo” was organized
Today, December 22, an event “Shab-e yaldo” was organized at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. At the event, organized jointly by the departments “Iranian-Afghan Philology” and “Oriental Literature and Comparative Literature”, students of 1-4 years of the university read gazelles in Persian.
The event was attended by the Consul of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Uzbekistan Murtaza Bogheri, Vice-Rector for International Relations of TSUOS Elyor Makhmudov, Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs Kudratulla Omonov, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Philology and Translation Studies Ikrom Bultakov, as well as professors and teachers of departments.
Professor Adhamjon Kuronbekov spoke in detail about the fact that the holiday “Shab-e yaldo” has a long history, it is celebrated for almost 25 centuries. “Shab-e yaldo” means “the longest night of the year”, and on this night all family members and relatives gather for table, read gazelles and sing songs, wish that the coming new days will pass in joy and happiness.
