The President of the Japan Association of National Universities and the University of Tsukuba, Dr. Kyosuke Nagata, was awarded as Honorary Professor of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies
On October 29, 2024, a delegation led by the President of the Japan Association of National Universities and the University of Tsukuba, Dr. Kyosuke Nagata, visited Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
During the visit, Dr. Kyosuke Nagata was awarded as Honorary Professor of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
After the meeting, the guests toured the university’s Japanese Language Center and library, and interacted with students studying in Japanese.
A scientific project is being implemented in collaboration between Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and the University of Tsukuba in Japan to introduce artificial intelligence technologies into the educational process. The project focuses on integrating AI capabilities directly into educational and administrative fields. Through the use of AI, opportunities will be created for students to learn foreign languages more effectively, master specialized subjects, and enhance operational efficiency within the university.
The project could provisionally be titled “Developing Education and Scientific Research through Artificial Intelligence at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.” It would be appropriate to consider funding opportunities through the University of Tsukuba or the LSA organization.
In collaboration with the University of Tsukuba, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies plans to establish a “Double Degree” program at the master’s level for training qualified personnel. This program aims to provide education in the specialties of “Linguistics (Japanese Language)” and “International Relations” at TSUOS,offer professional development for TSUOS instructors, and organize language internship courses for students. Proposals were also discussed regarding the provision of annual grants by the University of Tsukuba for two Japanese language teachers from TSUOS, as well as establishing a student exchange program between TSUOS and the University of Tsukuba.
