The rector of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, G. Rikhsiyeva, delivered a lecture to students and youth at the “Ulugbek” Foundation.
On October 11 of this year, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies rector Gulchehra Rikhsiyeva participated in the “Ulugbek” Foundation for Supporting Talented Youth with a lecture on the topic “The Electoral Transformation of Uzbekistan.”
In her speech, the rector emphasized for the first time in Uzbekistan’s history, a mixed electoral system is being introduced, where deputies will be elected partially directly and partially through party lists. She also discussed how the digitization of the election process and the implementation of the “E-Election” system are increasing transparency. The lecture noted that, according to the new legislation, candidates from political parties must consist of at least 40% women.
