An international scientific-practical conference on the topic “Uzbekistan-China: Cultural-Historical and Scientific-Economic Relations” was held at Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies
On November 16, 2024, an international scientific-practical conference on the topic “Uzbekistan-China: Cultural-Historical and Scientific-Economic Relations” was held at Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies.
The conference was attended by Otabek Mahkamov, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Qobuljon Sobirov, the Director of the Public Diplomacy Center of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Chji Julin, the Counselor for Science and Education at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and other official representatives.
At the conference, the opportunities and prospects for implementing new educational and scientific projects between universities of Uzbekistan and China were discussed, as well as the progress of ongoing inter-university collaboration projects and the coordination of activities in these areas.
At the conference, leading Sinology scholars and young researchers from Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Kazakhstan University of International Relations and World Languages, Liaoning Pedagogical University, Lanzhou University, Northwestern Normal University, and Gansu University of Political Science and Law of China participated with scientific presentations.
This conference serves as an institutional platform for implementing interdisciplinary research projects in the field of Sinology, including linguistic and stylistic aspects, historical-philosophical analysis, theoretical and practical issues of translation studies, literary studies and source criticism, as well as addressing economic issues and implementing the modern “Belt and Road” initiative.
After the plenary session of the conference, the work continued in the sections, and at the end of the forum, practical proposals for further strengthening Uzbekistan-China cooperation in the field of science and education, as well as for the development of Sinology in Uzbekistan, were summarized and developed.
The scientific articles of the conference participants were summarized and published in a separate scientific collection, indexed in scientific databases such as Google Scholar, and each scientific article was assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).
