Japanese Oratory Competition

The annual traditional competition of oratory in Japanese was held at the Palace of Culture of Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies. The contest was opened with a welcoming speech by the TSIOS Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Elyor Mahmudov, who noted that Uzbek-Japanese relations in various spheres of the national economy and public life at this stage have risen to a new level and wished students to become winners not only in the framework of this competition, but the following stages – at the republican level and in the competition among the CIS countries. The competition was attended by 18 students who spoke on their chosen topics, they showed not only excellent knowledge of the Japanese language, but also artistry and their oratory. As the jury members were: Yamasaki Noriko and Shinkoi Hidehiro from the Uzbek-Japanese Center, Imamur Eichi from the Uzbekistan-Nagoya Center, Nishizaka Shokhei from the State Law University of Uzbekistan. In general, the competition was organized in a good mood and at an excellent level, the participants of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were given a ticket to participate in the national Japanese public speaking competition.
