EDUCATION AT FRENCH UNIVERSITIES AS PART OF THE ERASMUS+ INTERNATIONAL CREDIT MOBILITY PROJECT

As part of the project “international credit mobility” Erasmus+ announces a competition to study at French universities CEFAM (Len), ICD Toulouse, American Business School of Paris.

The competition is open to students of the departments of Economics, Politics and Tourism of the East, Korean Studies, Chinese Studies, Japanese Studies and Turkic Studies of 2-3 courses of full-time and evening forms of study of the Bachelor of “Economics of Foreign Countries and Country Studies”, as well as 1st year students of the master’s degree “Economics of Foreign Countries and Country Studies” and “foreign economic activity”.

Requirements for candidates:

Level of English at least level B2.2 (IELTS, TOEFL, CEFR certificates);

To be a student with good grades and excellent performance, with high spirituality, achieved some success in the scientific and creative spheres, actively involved in university life;

To pass a generalized test in economic sciences (in English);

Pass the interview for evaluation of economic knowledge, knowledge about social and economic reforms carried out in our country, tendencies in the world economy, fundamentals of business and entrepreneurship (in English);

Conversation with a group of experts on spirituality and education about the history and culture of our country, about the feeling of homeland, about important events in the history of our country, about the content and essence of the strategy of action for the development of Uzbekistan, about the activities of TSUOS.

The list of recommended candidates for participation in the contest

By September 27, 2021, dean’s offices of faculties will be submitted to the Department of International Cooperation. In the spring semester of 2022, 3 students will be sent to study at the French universities SEFAM (1 person), Toulouse (1 person) and American Business School of Paris (1 person) for 4 months. The language of instruction is English, the direction of business management and economics. During training in France students are granted a monthly stipend under Erasmus+, transportation costs are covered and the necessary practical assistance is provided. After the end of the study period the credits received by students in foreign universities will be transferred and the student will continue his/her studies in TSUOS.

Qualifying stages of the competition based on the developed criteria (attached)

September 28, 2021 in economic sciences and September 29 in spirituality and enlightenment at 10 a.m. in the 716th Auditorium of the Oybek University Building.

Application

From the spring semester 2021-2022 academic years within the Erasmus+ program of the European Union at the French universities CEFAM (Lyon), ICD Toulouse and American Business School of Paris for 4 months will be tested and evaluated for international credit mobility internships

Number of quotas: 3, classes will begin in spring 2022.

Students: 2nd and 3rd year students of the bachelor’s degree direction “Economy and Country Studies of Foreign Countries”, 1st year students of the master’s degree direction “Economy and Country Studies of Foreign Countries” and “Foreign Economic Activity” (departments of economics, politics and tourism of Eastern countries, Korean Studies, Chinese Studies, Japanese Studies and Turkic Studies).

The exam is held in three stages:

Stage I.

Determination of the level of English proficiency. Candidates must have a minimum B2.2 level of English. Applicants must submit international certificates (IELTS, TOEFL, CEFR) indicating their level of proficiency.

Stage II

Generalized test in Economics. Number of tests – 40. Language-English, maximal point-80, time allotted – 1 hour.

The test is made of questions, defining the general economic knowledge of entrants on such disciplines as economic theory, macroeconomics, microeconomics, world economy, business and entrepreneurship, economy of Uzbekistan.

Note: Students whose English proficiency is at the required level and who score more than 71% of points in the test will be allowed to take part in Step 3.

Stage III

Interview. The interview is conducted to estimate applicants’ knowledge in economics, awareness of social and economic reforms taking place in our country, trends of the world economy, understanding of business and entrepreneurship basics.

Language is English and Uzbek, maximum score – 20.

The results of the interview are assessed as follows:

Fluent presentation of the topic, clear understanding of the given questions and answers without interception – 16-20 points;

Presentation of the assigned topic with short pauses, clear understanding of the assigned questions and answers with short extracts – 10-15 points;

Narrating the assigned topic with long pauses, brief exposition, partial understanding after repetition of the assigned questions and answers with fits – 5-9 points;

Inability to expound the given topic, no comprehension at all and answers to the questions asked – 0 points.

Stage IV

Oral exam on spirituality and enlightenment.

The examiner is evaluated on a pass/fail basis based on the results of an interview conducted by the faculty.

Total: 100 points.

If necessary, the partner institution of higher education may conduct a final interview with the applicants based on the results of the competition and re-generate a list of candidates on it.
